Anatomy of a Marriage: (Breaking Bad, the one about Skyler and Walt, and Skyler in general, 82 Kudos)

3. Your oldest fanfic

Isn’t on the AO3; it used to be on [personal profile] bimo’s German language fanfiction archive and was about Luke Skywalker between ESB and RoJ trying to process a certain revelation. My oldest fanfic written in English is on the AO3; it’s:

Postscript: (Highlander, the one about Joe Dawson deciding to keep “Adam’s” secret after Duncan tells him who Methos really is, originally posted in June 1998)

4. Your latest fanfic:

Alexandria Leaving: (Hand of Isis and Roman history, the one about Marcus Vipsanius Agrippa, one of my two latest Yuletide stories)

5. Your proudest fanfic:

Well, you know, there are a couple which I feel hold up quite well, but I’m currently in an Star Wars kind of mood (me and half the planet), what with marathoning The Clone Wars, and thus I pick this one:

Crossroads: (Star Trek: The Next Generation/ Star Wars crossover, originally written for my first Multiverse, 2004. Point of pride: Wesley Crusher was hands down the most unpopular TNG character. And back in 2004, i.e. after Attack of the Clones, before Revenge of the Sith, prequel era Anakin Skywalker wore that title (if you exclude good old Jar Jar Binks) for the Star Wars fandom. So when Andraste needed a pinch hit and it involved a prompt about these particular characters meeting, my penchant for the fannish underdog kicked in, big time. And lo and behold, the resulting story wasn’t hated. Cue yours truly being proud.

6. Your longest fanfic:

http://archiveofourown.org/works/16298/chapters/20836 Incubus (Highlander, the one where Cassandra and Methos have to team up against Ahriman between seasons 5 and 6, 29647 words).

8. Your 3 fanfics with the most bookmarks:

Anatomy of a Marriage (28 bookmarks), Spinning Fate (25 bookmarks) and Fuit Quondam (24 bookmarks).

9. Your Top 3 Crossover fics:

“Top 3” in terms of what? Hits? Kudos? Personal estimation? Order of production? Ah well. I’ll go with a mixture of “come on, that idea was obvious, it just had to be written” and “I can’t believe I got away with this”:

The Burying Kind (Angel/Six Feet Under: the one where Angel hires Fisher & Sons (or rather Fisher & Diaz, as it was at the time) to bury Cordelia, and the BTVS cast shows up as well for the occasion. With both shows being set in Los Angeles, this definitely asked to be written, and it also asked for a huge ensemble to be handled well.)

Five Times Jesse Pinkman Met A Companion (The Breaking Who Remix): (Breaking Bad/ Doctor Who): the one where Jesse keeps running into Companions (and the occasional Doctor), but not in linear order, because his life works that way. For those of us who enjoy both BB and DW (and TW, while we’re at it – Jack Harkness and friends are in it as well). Probably the craziest premise for a crossover I’ve written, but I swear it makes total sense in context!

Presences (Babylon 5/ Sandman): Londo Mollari meets each of the Endless at different points of his life. Sandman crossovers in general are easy to fit into most other fandoms because of the nature of Sandman as a story, but in this particular case, the narrative tones of both sagas mix really well, and not just because Neil Gaiman actually wrote a Babylon 5 episode. Another that just wanted to be written. Am particularly proud of the fact Destruction to Londo looks like a Narn. (And gives him sensible advice, not that Londo listens, because Londo.)

Overall conclusions: the popularity of Anatomy of a Marriage continues to surprise and please me, because the odds were against it (Skyler centric as it is). Ditto the odds for a Connie-centric Godfather tale. And I used to write much more fanfiction before Darth Real Life whisked me away.
