A few photographic weekend impressions, because I had a young visitor who had never seen either Munich or the Alps before, so I showed him a little bit of both. Also, there was football. Am v. worn out now. All you parents on my flist, how do you it on a constant basis? You're amazing, you are.
That's in the Englischer Garten, aka the city park.

The Munich city hall, from below and above. Why yes, I dragged that poor kid up a church tower for the view, with 38° Celsius temperature. It was worth it, though.

Now you can see the Frauenkirche as well, and the Odeonskirche (the one in yellow) in the background.

More views on Munich:

And here is the merciless tourist guide and her victim:

We also went to the Bavaria Film Studios. I was awed by all the sets for Das Boot, he was more into Asterix and Obelix and the Viking village build forWickie und die starken Männer, but we both had fun.
From a certain village in Gaul, undefeated:

And then there were the Vikings:

The Vikings couldn't hold a candle to those guys, though. Since my tv croaked it in the heat, we had to go to a restaurant to see Germany vs Urugay:

And then there were the Alps and the lake between same. Not a sight I'll ever get tired of.

Or the natural cathedral made out of trees up there:
